Marketing reporting: one report that connects spend to revenue

The short answer

Marketing reporting should tell you what you spent, what it produced and what happens next, in plain English. Alan Morgan Group delivers one report across every channel we run, connecting spend to leads to revenue, instead of a stack of platform PDFs that each claim credit for the same customer. Every number in it is tied to its source and its date range, so you can check it yourself.

What you stop doingReading six PDFs that contradict each other.

What should a monthly marketing report include?

Spend by channel, leads by channel, cost per lead, and whatever revenue or booked-appointment data you can share. Then the changes made this month, what they did, and the plan for next month. Rankings, impressions and clicks belong in the report as leading indicators, not as the headline.

Why do ad platforms over-report results?

Each platform counts conversions it can see, using its own attribution rules, so Google, Meta and your call tracking can each claim the same customer. Added together they describe more leads than you received. Alan Morgan Group reconciles the platforms against each other and against your CRM, and reports each lead once.

Do you report bad months too?

Yes. A report that only goes up has been filtered. Alan Morgan Group reports flat cycles, unequal comparison windows and seasonal effects alongside the wins, and says what we are changing in response. You cannot make good decisions from a report written to keep you happy.

Reporting: common questions

How often will I get a marketing report?

Monthly by default, with a short call to walk through it. Clients running active paid campaigns can also get a brief weekly update on spend and leads. Alan Morgan Group can deliver more frequent reporting when a launch or seasonal push calls for it, and the reports assemble automatically so the cadence never depends on someone finding time.

Can I see the data behind the report?

Yes. You keep full access to your own Google Analytics, Search Console, ad accounts and call tracking, and Alan Morgan Group cites the source and date range for every figure in the report. If you want to check a number, you can open the platform and find it. We never put your accounts in our name.

What is the difference between leads and conversions?

A conversion is any action a platform is told to count, which can include page views, button clicks or partial forms. A lead is a real person who contacted you and could become a customer. Alan Morgan Group reports leads as the primary measure and treats softer conversions as signals, because inflated conversion counts make campaigns look healthier than they are.

Can reporting include revenue from my CRM?

Yes, when your CRM can share it. Connecting closed deals or booked appointments back to the campaign that produced the lead is the most useful report a business can have. Alan Morgan Group sets up that connection where your systems allow it, often as part of an AI process automation workflow that runs without manual exports.
